So, it has come to my attention that I have left out an extremely important award from my last two posts that has created quite a stir. Apparently, or so the women tell me, I have been unfair to them by having a "most attractive female companion" award, but no such award for the male counterpart. I have very rarely been accused of being unfair, and so, to set the record straight have decided to award one of the male companions this prestigious award. However, seeing as how I am probably not in the best position to judge the beauty of the male body, I have decided to open the polls (which you will see to your right) and allow the public to decide for themselves. Unfortunately, I have limited the choices to the companions who I have watched up to this point, so those who are fans of Turlough, Jack, or Rory will be undoubtedly disappointed. However, there are still quite a few good choices to pick from, and, just in case your memory fails you, I have provided pictures to maintain high voter education.
Your first choice, ladies, is Mr. Ian Chesterton. Ian has a nice blend of ruggedness and decorum. He is also a good dresser, refusing to tear off his tie even in the midst of a Dalek invasion. He is quite the action hero; he has had to battle Aztec warriors, Daleks, giant ants, and Saracens, and he usually comes out on top too. To finish it off, he has been knighted by Richard the Lionheart; quite the catch, eh?
This is Steven Taylor. Steven is very strong-willed and decisive, and he has strong moral fiber with a finely developed sense of right and wrong. He place a high value on human life which sometime creates friction between himself and the Doctor, seeing as how the First Doctor tries (but usually fails) to interfere with history as little as possible. Unfortunately, most of his episodes have been destroyed by the BBC.
Say hello to Mr. Ben Jackson. Ben is a sailor, a member of His Majesties Royal Navy. Ben is a very down-to-earth kind of guy, and although he can be very hot-headed and cynical, he is very protective of the people he cares about.
Jamie McCrimmon is a fiery Scottish Piper. Jamie is proud, aggressive, and daring. He loves his friends, hates his enemies, and is pretty useful in a fight. He yearns for adventure, the type only the Doctor can give him. They become fast friends and Jamie shows great loyalty to him. Once you become Jamie's friend (or more than friends, maybe?), you have made a friend for life.
This is Sir Allistar Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, but he is perhaps better known as The Brigadier. The Brigadier is the head of UNIT, a job that requires great amounts of intelligence and decisiveness. The Brigadier is passionate, determined, and courageous. He is crack shot with his gun, and doesn't mind getting into a good old-fashioned brawl if the situation demands it. It's no wonder those ladies look so impressed.
The gentleman on the right is Doctor Harry Sullivan. Harry is a good honest medical officer, but he has been known to be slightly clumsy as well as lacking some common sense. On the other hand, as you can see from the picture, women just can't seem to keep their hands off of him.
And last but not least, there is Adric. Unfortunately, there is nothing good to say about Adric. Please do not vote for him. I would have made the picture smaller so you wouldn't have to look at him so much, but for some inexplicable reason my computer did not allow me. Oh well.
Ladies, you have seen all the candidates, learned a little bit about them. Now please, take your time, you need not rush. Think carefully, and choose wisely. Results will be announced in two to three weeks. May the best man win!!
